The Official Report of the 8th Air Force Fighter Command, containing the declassified report on Zemke's Wolf Pack.
This powerful, white-knuckle documentary is the fascinating story of the 8th Air Force Fighter Command in World War II. General Eisenhower knew that air superiority was necessary to ensure the success of the Allied invasion of France. In order to achieve air superiority, Generals Jimmy Doolittle and William Kepner allowed American fighter pilots to pursue German aircraft wherever they might be found.
Gun Camera footage puts you in the front lines of hear-pounding aerial combat over the skies of Europe. Witness American's premiere 56th Fighter Group, Zemke's Wolf Pack, escort American bombers to Germany and blast the Luftwaffe out of the sky.
On D-Day, June 6th, 1944, through skill and courage the pilots of the 8th Air Force Fighter Command had practically destroyed the German Air force. They also disrupted communications, neutralized beach defenses and helped accomplish ground breakthroughs. The 8th Air Force now had Command of the sky.
